No. 33 Monster Energy Citroen C4, Doran Motorsport
STANDINGS: 11th, 27 points
POSITIVES: The 2011 X Games head-to-head gold medalist won a last chance qualifier in Los Angeles this year for a chance to defend his crown, coming home with a respectable top five finish in that race. He followed it up with his second consecutive final appearance at New Hampshire despite having no launch control or handbrake.
NEGATIVES: Doran removed himself from a chance at the championship by skipping Charlotte in an attempt to contend for the European title. His GRC debut at Texas wasn’t too stellar either, as he came home with only five points in 12th place.
OUTLOOK: One of only two drivers (alongside Tanner Foust) to challenge for both the GRC and ERC titles, Doran has as much seat time as any other driver in the series. But seat time doesn’t always equal luck, even as he insists that he’s just as confident in his Citroen C4 as he is in the newer DS3 in Europe. However, Doran has the right attitude to push through the rough patches and recover in time for the final two rounds.
